SerialCop separates product facts from owner identity and limits public lookup to the minimum product-status information needed for verification.

Information SerialCop uses

SerialCop may process account identity, product identifiers, ownership records, purchase evidence, photos, verification submissions, claims, transfers, and security/audit data needed to operate the network. Private-beta data is used to provide, secure, review, and improve SerialCop—not to sell private ownership lists.

Public lookup

A public serial-number or SerialCop-ID search may show product identity, Product Passport status, ownership-claim confirmation in non-identifying terms, loss/theft/dispute status, verification level, and transfer eligibility. It must not reveal an owner’s name, email, address, precise location, private evidence, purchase price, or complete inventory.

Private and institutional access

Authenticated owners can access their own private product records. Administrative reviewers receive evidence needed for review. Future institutional roles will receive purpose-limited permissions. Law-enforcement disclosure requires controlled access and appropriate authority; SerialCop is not designed as a general people-tracking system.

Security and retention

Sensitive access and status-changing actions should be authenticated, permission checked, and auditable. Records may be retained where needed to preserve legitimate product history, security, dispute resolution, legal obligations, and fraud prevention. Data-access and deletion requests are handled subject to those integrity requirements.

Privacy and data-rights requests may be sent through SerialCop support. During private beta, do not submit highly sensitive information that is unnecessary to establish the product claim or verification request.
